Xmas Tree Ornament

Thanks to the special request for this product from Benita Koeman of OperationWeAreHere*,  your child(ren) can make Flat Brat ornaments that celebrate each home you’ve lived in and the one that’s “home for Christmas”.  Add color and your own creative touches and on the back of each ornament, write about the house, the town, friends and memories that you can relive every holiday. Make more ornaments to send to family and friends and those deployed “from our home to you”.

Materials you’ll need:   Card stock paper for your printer. If you’re using plain paper, have heavier weight paper or light cardboard to glue it on to. OR, you can use “Shrinky-dink” sheets for ink-jet printers (see Note below). Also, have on hand, Scissors, Hole punch, Crayons or Markers or Paint for coloring, Paper glue, if needed, and Ribbon or wire for hanging

How to do it:
1.  Print out the template of 4 ornaments
2.  If necessary, glue paper onto backing.
3.  Cut out, color and add house address to each ornament.
4.  On back, write your memories.
5.  Make hole for ribbon or wire, insert it and hang this wonderful ornament on your tree.
For added durability, you can laminate your ornaments

NOTE for Shrinky-dinks- Purchase  “Shrinky-dink” for inkjet printers at craft stores or online that makes the ornaments plasticized when heated. Print out this ShrinkSizeTemplate to use with  “Shrinky-dink” .  Be sure to cut and color the drawing and punch hole BEFORE shrinking. Make the hole large enough to pass your ribbon through once it’s shrunk. Your ornament will be approximately 2.75 x 3.4 inches
